Career summary

Amanda started as a graduate in Commercial Union before moving through several other executive roles at different insurance companies across various territories. She has extensive CEO experience having led AXA UK, PPP & Ireland and Zurich EMEA before taking her current role of Group CEO at Aviva plc over 5 years ago. 

 

She has chaired several committees and taskforces on behalf of the UK Government and HM Treasury and continues to play a key role in UK infrastructure discussions. 

 

Amanda was named as the Sunday Times business person of the year in 2023 and awarded a Damehood in the King’s New Year Honours in January 2024.  

 

Skills and experience

Amanda brings wide-ranging board experience and industry and regulatory connections, having previously been Chair of the Association of British Insurers. 

 

Amanda combines the experience of leading insurance businesses in the UK and across Europe with being a member of HM Treasury’s Business Infrastructure Taskforce.
